About

Since moving to Australia from the UK with his family in 2023, Gareth has joined Graham Radford-Smith as a joint group leader for the Gut Health research team. He is also the Clinical Lead for IBD and Research for the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and member of the ANZ IBD scientific committee.

Area of Interest

Gareth is interested in pharmacogenetics, spatial sequencing and AI prediction of IBD drug response. He is also interested in addressing healthcare inequality in remote and regional IBD care, as well as dietary interventions and their impacts on the gut ecosystem in IBD.
