About
Dr Bjorn Burgher completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at James Cook University in 2007. He obtained his fellowship from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2018.
Dr Burgher completed his PhD in Neuroimaging and Computational Psychiatry in 2024 at the University of Queensland, publishing papers on cognitive development after psychosis onset and how this affects the functional recovery of young adults.
Dr Burgher has clinical and research expertise in neurostimulation treatments such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), particularly for its indication in treatment-resistant depressive disorders and obsessive-compulisve disorder. He was one of the clinical trial investigators for the use of TMS as a therapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Dr Burgher is the Clinical Director at the Queensland Neurostimulation Centre.
